ICARUS Conventions

Every half year the ICARUS community gets together at the so-called ICARUS Convention for the purpose of welcoming new members and updating each other on the latest developments, project and work group progress. The meetings also serve as venues for exchanging experiences and knowledge about archival work and for envisioning and developing ideas for new projects and future cooperation.

It is at these meetings that the international network of institutions comes together, and the people behind the institutions meet face-to-face. We as a community are convinced that these get-togethers where information and ideas are shared professionally contribute to ICARUS’ success to a great extent: it is at these meetings where personal relations are established and trust in each others capabilities is built and deepened, so that thriving and sustainable synergies can flourish in the long-term.

Each ICARUS Convention is hosted by a member institution and organised in close cooperation with the ICARUS headquarters in Vienna (AT). The dates for these 3-day meetings usually fall in late spring and autumn. For detailed information on upcoming meetings, please take a look at our Event Calender below.
