The music archives
The international conference “Recondita armonia – Musical archives” is organized by the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa (SNS), La Sapienza Università di Roma and the Instituto Storico Lucchese. The state of the art of Italian music archives will be compared with some brillant case studies on Europen level, which might be inspiring for future developements, as Lucca is the only Italian candidate for the UNESCO ‘Creative City of Music’ award.

International Conference „Archives of Religious Communities in Croatia – Practical Experiences and Perspectives“
The conference raises questions on management, preservation and dissemniation of the archival holdings of religious communities in Croatia and invites participants to actively take part in the scientific and professional debate from the standpoint of archivists, as well as from the humanities, social studies and other interdisciplinary scientific fields.
- the evaluation of archival holdings of religious communities
- the role of public archival service in the preservation and dissemination of archival holdings of religious communities
- the implementation of professional standards in the preservation and dissemination of archival holdings of religious communities
- European experiences regarding the management and preservation of archival holdings of religious communities
The conference aims to provide guidelines for the preservation of the archival holdings within particular religious communities, standards and models for professional management of the archives within religious communities, as well as professional interaction and cooperation with public archival service.

DR. JULIA RIEDEL – Short report about the situation of Historical Archive of the City of Cologne. Background: In March 2009 the archive building collapsed. Julia Riedel will report about the recovery and restauration of the archival documents and about the plans for the future.

The Department of Auxiliary Historical Sciences and Archive Studies, Philosophical Faculty, University of Hradec Králové (CZ) and ICARUS kindly invite all students of Archive Studies to take part in a workshop focused on Europe’s biggest virtual charters archive
The workshop will take place in room B 11 and will be led by Mag. Daniel Jeller from Vienna (AT). He is a historian and responsible for IT, digitization and the Monasterium portal at ICARUS. Next to his work he is programming for Digital Humanities projects and does research into the cultural implications of digitization.
All participants will be given information about the database, its origin and development. The aim of the workshop is to teach the participants how to work effectively and creatively with the database, including practical exercises.
This workshop is being organized within the EU-funded project co:op – community as opportunity. The creative archives‘ and users‘ network.
Lecture series “Archive topics” – All about university archives!
Organized by ICARUS HR, the University of Zagreb and ICARUS within the EU-funded project co:op, this first lecture in a series of lectures yet to come on “Archive topics” intents to inform archivists and information professionals, experts in the cultural, scientific and educational institutions, students and the academic community, and anyone else interested in contemporary international trends, projects and practices in the world of archives.
Keynote speaker Dr. Anne J. Gilliland is Professor and Director of the Archival Studies specialization in the Department of Information Studies, Director of the Center for Information as Evidence, Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, and a faculty affiliate of the Center for Digital Humanities at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). She is also the director of the Archival Education and Research Initiative (AERI), a global collaborative effort amongst academic institutions that seeks to promote state-of-the-art in scholarship in Archival Studies.

This lecture of the lecture series “Archive Topics” is dedicated to the Slovenian e-archives project e-ARH.si. The project e-ARH.si is founded by European Union within the framework of the Operative Programme Competitiveness and cohesion 2014-2020 and it’s run by the Slovenian government and all public archives.
Experts from the Archives of Republic of Slovenia will present strategies, plans and activities regarding the development and implementation of e-archives in the Slovenian public archives service. The programme is open to the public and will be held in University Computer Centre in Zagreb, starting at 10 am.

Topics of this convention circle around digital platforms and digital research of archival sources, challenges of archives in the digital societies, international cooperation networks and initiatives creating new ways to use digital sources and bring history closer to the public.
