Based in Glasgow, Greyscale Ltd is a leading heritage digitisation company specialising in the large-scale digitisation of historical documents. Over the past decade, the company has photographed more than 250 million pages across 30 countries, working with national archives, libraries, and cultural heritage institutions to preserve and improve access to documentary heritage. Their expertise spans fragile manuscripts, bound volumes, large-format materials, microfilm, and genealogical records, delivered to internationally recognised standards including FADGI, ISO 27001, ISO 9001, and BS 10008.

Greyscale is also the creator of Anubis, an end-to-end digitisation platform developed in close collaboration with archivists. The platform supports the entire digitisation workflow, from image capture and metadata creation to quality control and final delivery.

Beyond its commercial work, Greyscale demonstrates a strong commitment to the archival community through its Heritage and Society programme, which reinvests part of the company’s profits into safeguarding endangered archives, supporting open access initiatives, and providing training for archivists in under-resourced communities.
