Call for Applications: Archival Basics – A Hands-On EHRI Workshop for Micro-Archives

The German Federal Archives and the Jewish Community of Novi Sad are calling for applications for the upcoming workshop “Archival Basics: A Hands-On EHRI Workshop for Micro-Archives” from 28-30 May 2024, organised within the frame of the Horizon 2020 project European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI).

About the event

The workshop aims at introducing archival practices to non-archivists working in archival institutions. Practitioners from Central, Southern and Eastern Europe working with Holocaust-related archival holdings without formal archival training are particularly encouraged to apply.

The event will focus on the conservation, cataloguing and digitization of archival holdings and will feature a strong practical component. It will be held in English.

Practical information

The workshop will take place from 28-30 May 2024 at the Jewish Community of Novi Sad, Serbia (Jevrejska 11, 21 000 Novi Sad). It will begin with an informal dinner on May 28 and end by lunchtime on May 30. We would like to invite all interested candidates to hand in their application until March 19, 2024. Travel expenses, accommodation and half board will be supplied for by EHRI (subject to budget limitations).

The complete application package consists of the following documents in English language:

  • A completed application form
  • A curriculum vitae (maximum 2 pages)
  • A motivation letter explaining your reasons for attending this workshop and how it will assist you or your institution respectively (maximum 2 pages)
